But if there’s any lesson she should heed since receiving her calling it’s that everything can change in the blink of an eye. Soon a terrible new threat, unlike anything she’s ever encountered, causes her to make a gut-wrenching choice that will strip her of someone she holds dear. As much as she’d like to have a pity party for one, there’s no time for that now because wedding bells are ringing in Gainesboro! In between dress fittings and rehearsal dinners Celeste will have to fend off attacking demons and leering pirates. As if the Dark Army wasn’t scary enough our heroine is faced with the horrifying trauma of attending a bachelorette party with her mom and watching Grams do Jello shots. Is a walk down the aisle even possible for a member of the Garrett family when the Dark Army is out to destroy them? More importantly, will the Dark Army Glee Club sing at the reception? Raise your glass to the happy couple, and get ready for a wedding…Conduit-style....

Let me start off by saying this series is flipping amazing!!! Knees shaking, balled fists, heart racing, brain cramping. OMW. Stacey Rourke out done herselfonce again. She has added a few more characters, that are just as great! Writing was terrific! Now there's a wedding they have to get through without chaos. Who's wedding? Nope I am not telling you! We have things flipping from everything angle. First you fall in love with one, totally enthralled with him and ready to see where the futures goes and than BAM! Engaging more in the story things change and in comes another Yummy! So pressing further my anger lightens and I am graduallyletting myself fall for this new person. No sooner than I am starting to be a little more acceptingBAM!!!! Stacey Rourke does it to me again. Celeste is back, but is one bold powerhouse character. Afraid of nothing. Gabe is wonderful, lovely anda great protector. Awww our little Keni. I will not be able to explain the emotional roller coasteryou will be on with her. Grams, wonderful, witty and full of life as ever. Mom, has been brought into this book. She is freaking lovely!!!! Remember what I said about Rowan, having a big role in this book.Well Wam Bam thank you mam!!! Rowan + book = big role! Let me introduce you to Office Python, who is he you ask? Read this series and find out! As also, this book is full of laughter once again. This book will have you feeling all kinds of emotions. Last night after my kindle died, I was so emotional I had to log on to Facebook. Thank you to Jennifer, for telling me everything will be fine *Laughing to myself* I want to share this for sure! Review to come in the May edition of InD'Tale magazineQuotes“I get it! We all get it. That garbage can over there gets it! You don’t like each other. Well, big friggin’ deal! We’ve got a job to do! So, as of right now you’re gonna stop with the snide comments, and the growling, or you’re both gonna find out what a groin kick delivered by the Chosen One feels like. Got it?”“Is the wedding back on?” “Are you getting back together?” “If you hurt him again I’ll break every one of your fingers and maybe a kneecap.” Alaina winced. Grams and Mom shot me surprisingly similar looks that seemed to question my mental stability. “What? I’m just sayin’.”I didn’t know if it was possible to kick someone hard enough to knock the cocky out of ‘em, but for Rowan I was willing to try.“Apologies, sir,” Rowan nodded to the bellboy. “What she lacks in size and stature she makes up for with immeasurable rudeness and a complete lack of couth.”“Absolutely. You should put your shirt on!” That came out more of a high-pitched desperate plea than intended. “I wasn’t aware you suffered from six-pack induced ADD,”Ah, life as the Conduit. One minute I’m shampooing gnome ash out of my hair, the next sliding into formal wear.

Review of Sacrifice by Stacey RourkeReviewed by Kimberly Schaaf (member of the YATR Review Panel)I was so honored when asked to read and review an ARC of Sacrifice. I was totally 100% wicked excited!!!With the crazy cliffhanger that we were left with at the end of Embrace, I just had to get my hands on this book. All I have to say, is just in the first page of the book I was laughing like crazy. Totally NOT what I was expecting. This book took me on an emotional rollercoaster. Celeste Garrett is one of my most favorite female leads out of any series that I've ever read. She's so strong and has taken so much on her shoulders. And, let me tell you, this is never more evident than in Sacrifice. Just when it seems like all is starting to fall into place with Celeste...we get thrown for a crazy loop. I can honestly say that this was one of the first times I was ever moved to tears in a book. My heart just went out to Celeste at some many points...I was emotionally exhausted after this one. The stories around Celeste's supporting cast were super strong. Big changes and happenings are in store for both Gabe and Keni. What exactly you ask? Well, you'll just have to read it and find out. We're introduced to some new characters and brought up to speed with some other minor characters from the first two books in the series. If you're anything like me, I couldn't get enough of our demon boys Rowan and Caleb. And again, we are not disappointed. The crazy rollercoaster ride continues, specifically with these two and their relationships with Celeste. Laughter, longing, anxiousness, fear, tears....it's all here. I can't wait to see what's planned for them next. This was a "one-night read" for me. I found myself in that, "I JUST HAVE TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS!!!" mentality from the start. And once again - the cliffhanger....I swear, she is the MASTER of cliffhangers. Personally, I think that she does this to torture us. And I tell you this now - it's going to be pure torture waiting to see how this series pans out. You'll find everything that you need in a good book here....as soon as you get the chance, you just HAVE to pick it up.This book was one of my favorites - ever. Awesomesauce x 100!! Read it, reviewed it, loved it!!!

All righty so here is the deal. I love this series. LOVE! I mean that is someone were to try to take my books I might shank them love. It is not rational but those who know me well we know I am not a rational gal. It is all part of my charm. HA! I just have to get that out there because this is book three of this amazing series by the amazing Stacey Rourke and if you have not decided to read the books, what are you waiting for? Have you read the reviews? Ok...so onward to the review. We are left at the end of Embrace with the cliffhanger from HELL. Yes it was god awful and it is a damn good thing I did not have to wait long for this book. It was a bit on the brutal side Stacey, really! However all is forgiving for once again giving us book three. Celeste our lovely little Celeste has weaved her way into my heart and become one of my favorites for female characters. She is spunky and mouthy to a fault and I adore that! I love a gal with Moxie and Celeste has it in spades. This book brings so many things together and then at the same time makes you say what? Huh? I cried and laughed. I always laugh when I read this series. Humor is one of the main ingredients and written so perfectly you are laughing out loud. The cast of characters as always superb... aside from just our lovely Celeste we have my personal fave. Yes I know I am a total Caleb whack job but the man has mad skills people and he talks with an accent. Add the demon bad &%$ and I was hooked. There is no going back from that for me. It is just that any of the lovelies in this book well I just cannot express to you how much I love them. I think that every character in the book adds to it, nobody takes away. It is interesting to me that I find this to be the case, in most series I do not. Just a personal thought on that. Read the series, read them all! This is one ride you do not want to miss. Everything needed for a good series awaits you. Now go buy the books, read the books. Trust me. I am being very patient and awaiting the next one...HINT HINT!!

I stayed up until midnight last night to finish this book. Again Stacey has out done herself in this series. I am not happy about having to wait for the next book though lol. If for any reason you had to Sacrifice the one you love to save the world could you do it? I'm not so sure I could but Celeste has to make that decision along with saving a family member or few from deadly demons and the all mighty Countess. Friends become enemies and and enemies become friends in this Third installment of The Gryphon Series. Gabe and Alainas wedding plans change and Rowan saves the day. Alec returns and Celeste has a really bad day. Celestes mom is going crazy over Alainas guests at the wedding over some strange happenings. Caleb well I will leave that part for you to read lets just say I am still Team Caleb. This story has a lot of twists and turns and I thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait to see what happens with Celeste, Rowan, Keni, Gabe, Alaina and Caleb. I refuse to give any more detail or give spoilers because you need to read it for yourselfI laughed and cried and got angry all in one book so I say get this series and everyone get to know the Garrett family. OK walking and talking gnomes well that part was creeping me out a little. There is a lot of awesomeness in this book so I say if you want to read a great series get The Gryphon Series The Conduit, Embrace and The Sidekick Chronicles by Stacey before Sacrifice is released so you will know everything that is going on and believe me you will not be disappointed.I received this book as a promise to give an honest review Thank You Stacey.

I was given this book in return for an honest review. I hope you have read The Conduit and Embrace because Wow, this third book in the series is amazing. Celeste is back, being trained by Gnome Bernard. Unfortunately Celeste has a severe aversion to Gnomes. In the midst of training and battling evil creatures, there is also a wedding being planned. Gabe and ex spirit guide Alaina are soon to be wed. Thank goodness Celeste has Caleb, her 1/2 demon, boyfriend to keep her sane. Celeste is soon to go up against more and more demons, way more than usual and then the Titans show up. Problem is, she can't kill any of the Titan's. Caleb is tied to one of them and she doesn't know which one, to kill the one he is linked too will kill Caleb as well. The only way to kill the Titans and still keep Caleb safe is to do something that Celeste isn't capable of dealing with. Can she do what is best for Caleb even if it means making a huge sacrifice, one that could potentially destroy her. In the midst of all of this, sweet little Kendall seems to have found her teen angst in a big way, and it may be more then they suspect. Will Celeste be able to do what must be done, will the wedding actually happen, and will someone have to smack Kendall upside of her head to get it back on straight? This has epic battles and betrayals that you did not see coming, as well as the loss of some of our little Gryphon family and a brief appearance by the Demon Glee Club. Love, Love, Love this book. I can't stress enough how much you are missing out if you don't read it and the rest of the Gryphon series. WaAr

I am a huge fan of Stacey Rourke's writing and she really shows her talent in book 3 of this series. Of course Celeste is her quirky self as always but we also see another side of her, grief. I loved how things flowed in this book and how we see Celeste grow and show off her talents. I love all the characters in this book especially Grams! I want to stake my claim to Caleb right here and now. He's who I want Celeste to be with and I will never change my mind. But Miss Rourke blew my mind with the huge twist in this story!!! I am anxiously awaiting the next book in this series and I will devour that one like I did this. I applaud her talents as a writer and can see her growth as her characters grow! She never fails to make me laugh loudly at all of the things Celeste must go through! There is also a special wedding that made me swoon my heart out! Great job Miss Rourke!!

Oh My Gryphon! I can not put into words how great this book is!Celeste and Caleb (:D) are in love, Gabe & Alaina are in love, Kendall and... well not so much, but you have to read Sidekick Chronicles for that one! Many things go wrong, to say the least and Rowan is left to comfort Celeste... which is wierd if you know how Rowan is... A wedding brings on all sorts of demons, brainwashing is used a little too spairingly, and someone comes back evil as all get out! All this is a formula for success! I love how Stacey takes her humor and sassyness and brings it to the next level. Keep 'em coming! Love <3 LOVE this book!Sacrifice by Stacey Rourke (Gryphon Series #3)

4.5. Even better than Embrace. And like Embrace, I would have given it an even higher score if there weren’t so grammatical errors. Plot:You may already know some of this, but I didn’t read Sidekick Chronicles. I jumped straight into this one. Celeste and Caleb are still together, and so are Gabe and Alaina. Keni’s a little down because her boyfriend cheated on her, and Alec is still nowhere to be found, but for the most part, everyone starts off happy. Then everything completely falls apart. Celeste loses not just one, but two loved ones, and one of the losses is truly devastating. Gabe and Alaina’s relationship hits a snag. Keni goes goth. The Countess wreaks havoc. And if that’s not enough, another big bad enters the picture. Characters:Celeste’s humor is still evident, although my heart broke for her in this one. Caleb’s still awesome and a great book boyfriend. But my favorite thing? Rowan returns! I get a big kick out of him! I never have really liked totally good characters or totally evil characters. In fact, if I have a favorite character, and there’s one word to describe that character, the word is always going to be “misunderstood.” Rowan totally fits into that category. He is majorly untrustworthy, and he does still try to hit on Celeste, but to me, it’s pretty obvious that his feelings are deeper for her than he lets on. Some of you may disagree, but I’m not writing Rowan off just yet. The rest of the characters are back. We see a softer side of Gabe, and it’s really sweet. Keni totally got on my nerves acting like a big pouty baby. Grans is still very much like Blanche on Golden Girls. The Countess is still the Countess, but her motivation is becoming a tiny bit clearer. And Alec is still … not the Alec from Book 1. There are some new characters. We meet Bernard, Celeste’s new, douche-y spirit guide. We finally meet the gang’s mom. She was fairly nondescript though. We also meet Big Mike, who kind of reminded me of a way hotter and an even awesomer Michael Clarke Duncan for some reason. Writing: Rourke used taut correctly every time in this book. Yay! But, boo, there are still tons of other typos and grammatical errors, and they are still irritating. The Bottom Line:Sacrifice was even better than Embrace, which was waaaaay better then Conduit. Rourke is definitely going in the right direction. Be prepared for deception, heartbreak, humor, lots of action, and some sexual tension … okay, TONS of sexual tension. Alas, you should also be prepared for a cliffhanger. I hate cliffhangers! Fortunately, Ascension (Gryphon 4) comes out in November, so there’s not too long of a wait.

Theres one thing about Sacrifice that pisses me off to no end.. ( this in no way will effect your thought of the books unless you completely agree with me.. OHh maybe we could start a petition.. ) I AM NOT IN THIS BOOK! I could been one of Alaina's "family" member (with a speaking role) or a distant Garrett cousin who totally connects with Celeste.. i couldve been there her! Sacrifice is the most heartbreaking of the series thus far.. But true to Rourkes form i smiled at every page her humor is spot on and refreshing.. This time around Celeste and her family are training with their new spirit guide Bernard.. and i slightly wonder if than grunken gnome is a distant or close relative of the travelocity gnome and why he roams alone! Oh yeah cause hes an evil shit.. They are also fighting Titans albeit very carefully because one of the titans is linked to Caleb.. Whhattt NOoooo.. Celestes sexy Irish demon man.. you remember Alaina's long lost brother man.. Yeah im still crushing on him and im like 80% sure its the accent in my head im swooning over.. Although im also crushing on the pirate Rowan but im 100% sure its because he is an ass you know us good girls love a bad boy.. Oddly enough Gabe has yet to do anything for me which is good because he has Alaina also because hes FICTIONAL! So speaking of Gabe and Alaina aka the happy couple.. They are preparing for their nuptials with the help of broken hearted Kendall.. Theres a few ups and downs that were all worth it because in the end they ended up with a wonderful destination wedding..So you wondering when im going to mention the heartbreak well it comes rather early with the revelation that one of the titans is linked to Caleb.. They try to unlink Caleb and the titans resulting in Caleb being human again.. So the night they preform the ritual Caleb proposes to Celeste the next day BAM.. WHAM POOF! hes gone.. Totally heartbreaking! Poor Celeste she keeps the proposal to herself and suffers in silence..There really is soo much going on however i wasnt overwhelmed Rourke continues to churn out an amazing story and i love her for it.. I found myself in a very difficult to get out of book hangover..

LOL YAStacey Rourke offers "Sacrifice," the newest hilarious installment (#3) in the Gryphon series that features teenage hero Celeste Garrett as the Conduit. As "Chosen One," Celeste must fight demons and thus save the earth. No biggie. Rourke's new novel features a still-reluctant hero who never asked for the job as Chosen One. But the earth needs her so she does it. What's amazing is that Celeste's physical prowess in battle can be enhanced by others, especially her siblings, whose own unusual powers make them a formidable trinity when violence threatens. This fact encourages a small community to grow and bond around the sibs. Even better, Rourke writes crisp action scenes for them. The most entertaining aspect of the novel is Rourke's humor. It pulses throughout the dialogue via sarcasm which the characters speak as a first language. Also, several character concoctions such as the Dark Army Glee Club offer threats and entertainment. Additionally, Celeste not only battles demons but she also struggles against the usual destroyer of teenage self-esteem: embarrassment.Rourke reveals her own courage in this novel. First, she makes a Katniss joke. Second, the book's signature event highlights a wedding at the Biltmore Hotel. It ain't Bella and Edward. Let me be clear: I've read both the Twilight and Hunger Games series. And I recommend Rourke's Gryphon series over them. Rourke fights the franchises and Rourke wins.Rourke also offers a heavier dose of pathos in this novel. Yet it doesn't intrude in the humor. The reason they complement each other is that humor flows mainly from the characters as does their angst. Rourke writes entirely believable actions and reactions. This approach means that Celeste's family can be a bit dysfunctional. But the family's inablity to always get along adds to the characters' believability.Of course, before reading "Sacrifice," you'll want to read the first book, "The Conduit," and continue with "Embrace." It's YA reading at its snarkiest. And that's a good thing.

*blows horn* Gryphon series fans…do you have your torches lit? Your pitchforks at the ready? Good, after you are done with Sacrifice you are gonna need them! Wowzers! I don’t think I will ever get enough of this series. Stacey didn’t disappoint that’s for sure! I laughed, I cried, I laughed, I yelled, I laughed and I almost threw my kindle…yeah I have emotional whiplash! We get a few new characters this book…Bernard, the grouchy gnome, we gain our own girl on fire as well as Big Mike. Lots of demon activity happening when the Titans get involved and Celeste can’t go all gryphony on them because Caleb is still linked to one of them. The Countess isn’t going to give him up without a fight. Rowan saves the wedding (not saying who’s) but we all know he doesn’t do anything without himself in mind; he is afterall, a pirate. Tough decisions have to be made and a sacrifice that may destroy our chosen one. You’re going to need a Kleenex as we suffer a loss with Celeste.  Kendall channels her inner angst and needs a good wallop to bring her out…it may be a bit more than we see on the surface. Boundaries are tested as everyone prepares for a big day and the attacks just don’t stop. Once again Rourke will take you on a nail biting, eye popping, side-splitting journey you won’t soon forget. A well written plot with lots of twists, tons of action, love … and heartache, and we can’t forget the humor! The Dark Army Glee club is back folks!!! Alec makes a return and he does it with a bang. Big shocker coming your way there! Stacey secures her title as Cliffhanger Queen with the HUGE one she leaves at the end of Sacrifice. If you haven’t read this series yet, (what are you waiting for, seriously?) well … I feel sorry for you because you are truly missing out!

Oh heck, I’m just gonna say it. Forget Rowan and Caleb. My all-time favorite characters are Grams and the dark army Glee Club. Yes, of course I like the Garrett siblings too and I’m definitely on team Rowan (he did save the happy couple’s day, after all), but the nerdy demons and Celeste’s grandmother is a laugh a minute…and I love books that make me laugh! In “Sacrifice”, it is no-holds-barred action all the way, but more focus is placed on Celeste’s relationship with both Caleb and Rowan who we met in the previous book, “Embrace”. I’m not big on overly emotional drama and romance – which for some reason always seems to go hand-in-hand in YA books - but the author cleverly worked her signature humor into scenes which called for the dramatics and thus brought a lighthearted edge to the story to keep it fun. Oh, and did I mention this book has a wicked playlist? Yep, a few memorable scenes accompanied by music ranging from Maroon 5’s Moves Like Jagger down to Tracy Chapman’s Give Me One Reason, sets the mood in all the right places. The real cherry on the cake for me, though, was the stripper scene and Alaina’s mortification. It was hilarious! If you’ve been following the series, be prepared for a ton of unexpected twists and a betrayal or two in Sacrifice. This third book in the Gryphon series does not disappoint, and apart from ending on yet another choice Celeste has to make, one which has me dying to read book four, it has everything the first two books had that made it into the amazing, butt-kicking series it is. Okay, maybe the dark army could’ve had a little more of the spotlight, but nonetheless, this was an enjoyable read!

I have loved this series from the very beginning and I am not surprised that it just keeps getting better and better. Sacrifice is my favorite so far I think because it proved to be a more emotional book. After reading the other two books, I found myself attached to so many of the characters and when something affects them and causes them pain, well then of course my heart aches for them. I had a couple experiences where my ugly cry got the better of me and tissues were needed. "I couldn't lose Caleb. He was my anchor in a sea of chaos." *sniffle"How do you act normal when it feels like your world just imploded? Was it possible to go through the motions of normalcy when all I wanted to do was lay down and cry." *tearOn the other hand, the author still had the laugh out loud one liners I have grown so fond of. Her humor cracks me up and lightens the mood in some of the more painful moments in the book."If looks could kill, my boyfriend would've been on the ground twitching." Sacrifice has the perfect balance of humor, action, and creepy demons out to kill the Conduit. Now with that being said, I cannot forget to mention that the author gives us MORE of the two hotties that we met in Embrace. Yes I am talking about the smoking hot Irishman Caleb and the super sexy pirate Rowan. They are even more drool-worthy and kept my pulse racing. I can't wait to read more about Celeste, Gabe, Keni, Caleb and Rowan in Ascension. Amazing series that I can't get enough of.

Stacey Rourke Sacrifice Book 3 in The Gryphon SeriesI just can’t get enough of this series, though this is by far the most emotional! Be prepared to laugh and cry as Celeste, Gabe and Kendall all prepare for the big day – Alaina and Gabe’s wedding. As expected, demon attacks center around the wedding, and they are all pushed to their limits to ensure things go without a hitch. On top of everything, Kendall was in charge of organising the bachelorette party, and the stripper turns out to be so much more than just entertainment. Celeste appears to have finally managed a balance between her life and her calling, with Caleb being the main reason for this. I may be in love with Rowan, and would happily disappear out to see with the pirate - it’s one of those love hate relationships though, I don’t always agree with what he does. Obviously the Countess isn’t going to let two gorgeous demons just change sides, and Titans start attacking cities. Only problem is one is connected to Caleb, and if the Titan dies, so does Caleb. Can Celeste put her calling before her relationship? This is one of those series that you never want to end. I’m sure I would never get bored of the sibling rivalry and bickering, endless demon fights and their friendships / relationships. The characters have a life of their own, and the reader is transported right into the center of their world, becoming part of it. I received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Sacrifice by Stacey Rourke is the 3rd story in The Gryphon series. If you haven't read Conduit and Embrace (books 1 & 2) then you NEED to read them before reading Sacrifice. This story continues with Celeste and her brother and sister saving the world from Demons...and trying to make sure that the wedding between Gabe and Alaina will be perfect. But the demon world throws a huge problem at Celeste when it sends Titans to attack her. She can't kill any Titans without possibly killing her boyfriend Caleb because of the Titan blood in him. How can Celeste keep Caleb safe and stop the demons? What will she have to sacrifice?I am a huge fan of this series - I love the characters and the storyline. And it just gets better with every story that is published. I literally found myself laughing out loud at times and crying at other times while I was reading this book. Just imagine - huge demon spiders attacking in a bridal store or a demon stripper named Officer Python...and those are just 2 of the many LOL moments. I have to warn you that Stacey Rourke loves cliffhanger endings and this book ends with a huge one. I kept tapping my kindle trying to get it to turn to another chapter because I couldn't believe that she'd end it like that. So now I'm anxiously waiting for the next book to be released...and thinking about hiring someone to chain Stacey Rourke to her desk until she finishes the book and sends it to me.

I received this book from the author to give an honest review.I wish I could give this book more stars as it deserves it. DANNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGG where do I even start with this AAAAAAMMMMMAZING book? The beginning, the middle, the end? It was all written so perfectly that I found myself falling yet once again with all the characters, and falling in love with the story line. Sacrifice will have you in its clutch from the very beginning and want you wanting more till the very end. There is more action, love, heartache, betrayal, surprises at every turn. I found myself mad at Celeste for the choice she made but at the end it became clear and I figured hey I can't be mad at her look at all she has gone through and she is still standing strong. Any other person could not handle what she has handled. You will fall in love with Rowan and then turn around and hate him for what he will do to Celeste. There is even a WEDDING in Sacrifice! Yes I said it a wedding between who well you just have to read the story to find out. Now that Alaina is no longer Celeste's spirit guide her and Gabe and get a bit cozy. But now Celeste has a gnome for a spirit guide and she is not very fond of them. Will Celeste make the ultimate sacrifice for her beloved? As she battles more and more demons and even Titans! The fight scenes were well written and I loved the detail she put into them. If you have not read these series! I highly recommend you buy the books and get on the Gryphon train.

Stacey Rourke's Sacrifice is an exceptionally good read with so many strengths that are far too numerous to list. The characters in Stacey Rourke's third installment of her amazing YA fantasy series The Gryphon, continue to grow and develop in ways that constantly kept me on my toes and had me second and third guessing. The plot development, teamed with the numerous twists, provided a fast-paced read that made it virtually impossible not to read it in just one sitting. There was always a superb level of action and opportunities for Stacey Rourke's signature wit and sarcasm that she voices so successfully through her characters, especially through the main protagonist Celeste.Sacrifice, I can write with confidence, is most definitely a 5 star read, although it's not my favourite in the series to date. My heart still lies with Embrace. However, Sacrifice is the first in The Gryphon Series that has successfully made me cry. I would like to say they were tender tears, but alas no. Rather think in the realm of the Angel episode 'I Will Remember You' (sorry for non Buffy & Angel lovers). Yes, true violent sobs and unsightly runny nose! The Gryphon Series is still in my top five of all time favourite YA fantasy reads right up there with Phillip Pullman's Northern Lights and Garth Nix's Old Kingdom Trilogy, yet of course the series carries a wonderful uniqueness of its very own.

Would you sacrifice someone you love just to keep them safe? Celeste has to make a tough choice; she has been making them on a daily basis since she has been chosen as the Conduit. With even more difficult sacrifices to make and demons that are a whole new level of nasty to defeat will Celeste survive? And of course there is the wedding. But with the Countess and Dark Army Glee Club, around the corner will the wedding bells chime?Yet another masterpiece by Stacey Rourke! It is un-put-down able and had me laughing out loud (I’m pretty sure I woke up everyone in my house at one point because of that! :P ). Quirky, witty and funny is Stacey’s forte and she plays it well. Sacrifice was an emotional roller coaster it had me laughing till I couldn't breathe, but it made me cry too... The story just gets better and better with every turn of the page, makes you gasp in shock and wish the ride never ends. This series I’d describe as pick-me-up kinda books, whenever you read it you are bound to smile. But let me tell you the ending had a jaw-dropping effect on me and I REALLY NEEDED the next book... like yesterday!

It's no secret that I love this series, so when author Stacey Rourke asked me if I would like to read an advanced copy of Sacrifice, I jumped at the chance. In this story, preparations are on for Alaina & Gabe's big day. There are several sacrifices throughout the story, but the main one involves Celeste's boyfriend Caleb. That's all I'm going to tell you, as any more will give the story away, but I will tell you this: Sacrifice is my favorite book of the series to date. The struggles, both internal and external, between good and evil are what pulls this amazing book. In my review of the second book, Embrace, I had been looking for answers as to what happened to Alec. Sacrifice begins to answer those questions (thank you!) Of course, like all good continuing series, even more questions are posed.Stacey Rourke once again writes the perfect mixture of humor, action, adventure, sarcasm, & romance. To round it all off, of course, she's got her trademark cliff hanger ending. If you haven't started reading the Gryphon Series yet .. What are you waiting for?

Demons and spiders and gnomes, oh my! Celeste really goes through some things after losing not one but two important people in her life. Cue tears! Rowan really steps up and shows another side of himself! Keni, the fashonista, goes goth and Grams doing jello shots while stuffing singles into a strippers speedo, really, what more do we need? Well, get ready for some major things to happen. New threats surface everyday. Sacrifice was funny, heart crushing and thrilling all at the same time. And it ends with a heck of a cliff hanger. The kind that makes you wanna throw yourself on the floor kicking and screaming! I CANNOT WAIT to find out what comes next! This is the best so far in the Gryphon Series!I received this book from the author for review.

I was given this book by the author in return for an honest review. ~WaAr~I absolutely loved this book. The journey our hero's take in this book is action packed from the start. However this journey is even harder for Celeste as she must make Caleb forget her and the love that they have for one another in order to save his life. She must also fight her growing need for Rowan. Along with all this there is Gabe and Alaina's wedding to organise and get through. Will they make it???An in the midst of all this there is someone close to Celeste who means to harm her, will she survive???Stacey Rourke is a fabulous writer and after the way this book ends I am hoping that there will be a fourth book in this fantastic series.

I have been a huge fan of this series since The Conduit, and an even bigger fan of Stacey Rourke's writing style. I feel that book three is the best in the series! A little more dark, as any good series should change it up, but still with the author's usual snarky sense of humor. And now this fan is totally, head over heels, crushing on Rowan. I couldn't put the book down. When ever I read Stacey Rourke's books, I'm right there with the characters. They're my friends, talking snarky to me. The author's writing is just that way ... it immerses you, puts you right there. And, of course, in true Stacey Rourke fashion, there is a major cliffhanger! I am (im)patiently waiting with baited breath for book four.

Wow! Wow! Wow! OverWowed!Three wow’s for the third book in Ms. Rourke’s series. The family, starring the gryphon battles evil, with more wit and even better banter. This is definitely the darkest of the series and extremely fast paced, making it hard to put down and even more difficult when you get to the end. Without ruining the story, my heart pours out with the characters as they suffer the demands of living dual lives, dealing with love, family, and the pressures of being the chosen ones to fight evil. As they continue to develop in their journey, Ms. Rourke develops in her writing making this what will hopefully someday become a classic trilogy. AB – 4/18/2013

My heart hurts. Such a gripping (& mature) love story. Both between Gabe & Alaina as well as Celeste & Caleb. Just when you think your used to demon duals, the puff of black smoke is pulled from under you. These books truly exercise your imagination and give it a kick ass work out. I wish it wasn't so short. I was hanging on every work on every page, not wanting it to end. Until next time, never trust a glee wanabee, pirate or gnome!!

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.Awesome sequel! It offers everything I loved about The Conduit. Stacey Rourke continues the fast and fun pace of the first installment but kicks it into high gear. Full of twists & turns, I found myself saying just "one more chapter". Staying true to the first, this story ended with another cliffhanger that had me thankful that I already had Sacrifice and didn't have to wait!<3The Wicked Reads Review Team <3
