Title: Meeka's Reluctant Mates - Beckett's Wolf Pack Book 5Author: Lynnette BernardPublisher: Siren Publishing Inc.Published: 3-13-2014ISBN: 978-1-67241-431-9Pages: 339Genre: EroticTags: Paranormal Romance, Shifters, Wolf-ShiftersSensual Level: ExplicitOverall Rating: Excellent Mikayla "Meeka" Martin has been with the Beckett pack since she and her son Eric were rescued along with Suzie from Alpha Randall, leader of a neighboring wolf pack. For years Suzie and her mother had hidden her and the child from Randall, who is just as vicious and evil as many of the others in the pack. He rules with an iron fist with fear and intimidation. Those who oppose Randall will either disappear or bear the scars for the rest of their lives. In a matter of moments of meeting her, Reece Hutchinson and Wade Garner recognized her as their mate. Yet wounds from years earlier inflicted by Randall have left them with severe scars and fears that they would never be blessed wth a mate of their own. When they do find her, they refuse to claim their mate because of the after affects of that attack. When Mother Fate intervenes, she encourages Meeka not to give up on the men destined for her. A misunderstanding about an overheard conversation leaves her with a heavy heart. She runs to her sister who is still hiding from the danger that nearly killed Meeka four years earlier. Wade and Reece realize they do not want to be without her and begin looking for her. When she is located weeks later they go to beg her forgiveness and ask her to return. Can Wade and Reece make Meeka understand that they never meant to hurt her and in fact were trying to protect her and Eric? Can she forgive them and accept them as her mates once more? What happens when the one who left Meeka for dead finds out she is still alive and decides to rectify that problem? The danger is coming to the entire pack when revenge and bigotry combine to bring about the Beckett Pack's downfall. This is the best of the series so far. I waited and downloaded the book to my I-pad and Kindle as soon as it was available then read it through in one sitting because I could not put it down. I then turned around and read it again to make sure it truly was as good as I thought. Believe me, it was. I had a chance to visit so many old friends when I opened the story to learn Meeka's story. I got to catch up with Laurie and her mates as well as Nikki, Abby and Suzie and their triad mates. The stories Lynnette Bernard writes are filled with characters that embody the best and the worst of the human race. The Beckett pack show off the best with men and women of honor and integrity who show respect and love for their mates, protect their family and children with their lives. There are also those who live by the other end of the spectrum both human and shifters. Those who enjoy hurting others for fun or because it pleasures them. Those out for power who do not care who they harm or kill to acquire that power. You will never be bored with one of Ms. Bernard's books and they will leave you feeling good and filled with hope about the future of mankind.Meeka's Reluctant Mates can be read as a stand alone, but you will quickly be picking up the copies of the previous books because you will want to know more about the Beckett pack. They will quickly become friends you will want to visit again and again. I am already looking forward to book six that cannot come soon enough for me
Marie's Tempting Reads ARC Review:Meeka's Reluctant Mates is the fifth installment to Lynnette Bernard's Beckett's Wolf Pack, Triad Mates series. I have liked all the females so far in this series, except Meeka. She isn't a bad person by any means. In fact, she is sweet and really pretty with a good heart. I just found her to be extremely naive. But after her previous relationship and with an alpha that was a real jackass, she was a bit standoffish and maybe a bit judgmental of her mates, Reece and Wade. In a way, I really understood why she was that way, but I just wish she was a bit more strong willed. That is one of the reasons why I loved all the females in previous books. I do feel that Meeka was lacking a bit in that area. Now just because I wasn't fond of Meeka, it doesn't mean I thought this story was bad. It was indeed a really enjoyable read with a different type of storyline compared to previous books in this series. Not to mention two determined and sexy mates who will stop at nothing to prove to Meeka that they are not only perfect for her, but will treat her the way she deserves. I definitely think they did that in the book. I give Meeka's Reluctant Mates a NICE THREE AND A HALF STARS! If Meeka had more of a stronger will and was a little less naive, I would of definitely given this book a four stars. I still think that this story was well written with a good plot and two sexy men that were almost irresistible for words. Definitely well worth the read!
I’ve been a fan of this series since I first found it completely by accident over a year ago. Each time a new book comes out, I jump at the chance to read it.My worry with this book was that since it was further into the series that it would feel as though some parts of the story would feel like they were repeats since I have read all of the other books. And I am so happy that even though there were some parts that were repeated, it wasn’t overdone to any degree.I really enjoyed that we were able to spend some more time getting to know Mother Fate in this book! She has had an important role in all of the other books, but with her in this book we find out more about her, and her sense of humor.I also loved how Meeka has grown so much in this book. In the previous books, she was very timid and scared, yet in this one you can see the woman that she normally is. She isn’t afraid to do what she needs to do to get what she wants, and in this case it is Reece and Wade. I usually don’t like jerk’s for main male characters, and to be honest that’s what I thought of Reece and Wade, however once learning about what they were going through and had been through it made total sense.I feel like this book was the most emotional out of the whole series so far. Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoyed it, but it was touching on many levels and I just couldn’t get enough of it. I really can’t wait to read the next book in the series!*Copy BOUGHT for review*Reviewed by Crystal Marie for Crystal's Many Reviewers
I loved Reece, Meeka & Wade's story! I really enjoyed their characters and they had great chemistry. I liked seeing the former characters from previous books in this series as well as all the new comers. Little Eric was just perfect and I look forward to reading his, Cassy & Owen's story in the future. It had a really strong storyline and I like the the authors style of writing. There were a few downward points for me, FIRSTLY, when ever they were intimate Wade always seemed to be chosen to go first, he was always in front facing Meeka and Reece at the back and SECONDLY, Wade and Meeka always seem to talk more lovingly together than Reece and Meeka! I like equal amounts between a triad otherwise for me its unbalanced and it seems like favouring one over the other and thats not a story I want to read! I had to change my mind set when reading these sections but other than that I did really enjoy this book!!!
As always a great book from this author. I love how she keeps the story flowing from one book to the next in the series and how she manages to keep it so consistent. This particular version of my book could use a few edits thought as there was one spot where she said Boyd but it should have been Ethan as Boyd is dead, but you can't catch everything. Meeka had been through so much it was good to see her have so much good come her way finally. I am also glad to see that after screwing up so royally her men had to suffer a little before getting her back. I realize that their life wasn't easy but that was no excuse for break that woman's heart so many times.
I like this shifter series. This one irritated me at times with the alpha males. One minute they are trying to get close to Meeka and the next they back off. I understand why but I was beginning to feel like a yoyo.
Of course this book was brilliant and amazing!!!! I love every book in this series!!!! I want more of all the series!! Cowboy mates... Beckett wolf pack... And the newest series coming out with lover of my dreams
Meeka is such a great character. I loved her story. She was so strong yet vulnerable. She made this story interesting to read.
I love this story. I love how this series is about everyone as a family. Can't wait for the next one.
