I started reading this book because i was enthralled by the series and i couldn't just leave on a cliff hanger of the book before! Luckily, this book was already downloaded on my iPad, so it made it so much easier to read. i was sure that this book would be as good or better than the last two, and i wasn't disappointed. Characters:Th e one character i want to focus on is Sarah. The battle in her soul really tugs at my curiosity. Most people have good and bad in them, but with Sarah, it goes to the extreme, these good and bad personality is literally what makes her up, and they come out a different times, like she is two different people. The fact that sarah didn't think that Landon loved her enough to come help her really confused me because they were so close and they loves each other. As Sarah and Landon were speaking while in Sarah's soul, Sarah says, "Landon... You came for me." And Landon responds with: "I always will." This shows me how Sarah fears that people don't care for her, even people who have proven their loyalty and are practically family. Then, suddenly, the sinister side of Sarah's soul comes out and tries to kill Landon, but the innocent and fragile Sarah steps up because she will not let harm come to those she loves. The whole concept of there being two Sarahs really confused me, but it made things more interesting and it made me feel for those who have wars within themselves everyday, all while putting a smile on their faces to mask their pain and to not burden their loved ones with worry. The overall significance of this book is that it taught me to not judge a book by its cover. People could be silently crying out in agony in their minds but putting a fake smile on their lips for show, so i will not judge them.312 pages

Overall, The Divine is a decent (stress on decent) series. The writing flows well, the story develops well, and the author can keep your interest. However, the protagonist - Landon - is truly a stupid, stupid individual. I mean he lacks even the intelligence of a normal human being. I understand authors must have their characters do things that are dumb, wrong, misinformed, etc, in order for the story to develop; but, Forbes has Landon doing dumb, stupid, things left and right. The character never uses logic worth a damn, can't reason his way into a course of action, and prefers to stumble along just re-acting rather than acting.I finished the three books so far published. The manner in which the character's continually stumble from one scene to the next is very off-putting though. These three books don't really make me want to continue this series, or get his other books. Overall, I was able to burn time enough to justify the costs of the books, but I wish I'd just read these as a loaner from a friend or the library and spent the money on something else.

well this is the third book and it has still kept wanting more. there a ton of action jumping to one part of the world to another. You can tell they are fighting a losing battle but still have hope they will find a way to beat the odds in the end.Forbes is a writer i look forward to reading more from. I do hope there is a forth book in the making because it would be a terrible ending if he ends it here.

What an excellent story as the third book in the series. Is this the end or the beginning of another chapter in the story? A fantastic fight between good and evil with the rest in between!

Better and better with each bookAngels, demons, vampires, werewolves and all manner of supernatural beings, populate this series about an evil being taking over the Universe. And while that is nothing specifically new in this genre, there are some twists in the mechanics. Think very much the TV show Supernatural, mix in Grimm and that's pretty much what this series feels like. I never give spoilers but if you persevere after the first in the series, you will not be disappointed.

I am a staunch supporter of MR Forbes's Divine series, having loved both Balance and Betrayal, and while I really do want to give this book 4 stars, I can, in all honesty, only give it 3. In this instalment, Landon and team are losing - constantly and badly. All the time! And again - and again. I desperately wanted to see his surrounding life given some depth, to see his love interest develop into something more than a glance, to see him make inroads against the Beast that culminate into something more than another desperate, losing battle. I wanted to see Hope but all I got was exhausted and depressed about the cause. On the plus side, Mr Forbes continues to WOW with his originality and unique take on a familiar genre. The story is fast paced and the relationship with both his 'soul-mates' was sometimes humorous and heart-warming.And then, at the end, while I can't say the last battle was any different from the first one in the book, there is the surprising twist which I thoroughly enjoyed! It was a moment of solidarity, of clarity and yes, hope! I did puzzle over the myriad of little clues sprinkled throughout the book but I didn't piece them all together until the end - now that's good writing! Also, I understand there is a 4th book planned and with that in mind, I knew that whatever happened at the end, would be continued. So for me it wasn't a cliff-hanger but more a teaser of what was to come! And here's hoping that Book 4 offers all the above, and more!

This was an excellent 3rd chapter in the saga of stories; it's been quite a number of months since I read books 1 & 2 so when I began reading this one it took me a while to jump start my memories of the first two books but it didn't reduce the enjoyment I had while reading it. It was interesting to see how the various "species" of beings worked together throughout the story; there were times you couldn't trust those you imagined you would and vice versa which added an extra layer of intrigue to the book as a whole. As with the previous two books, yes the book was dark and held a lot of unsurities but really that's to be expected with a story based around complete chaos and domination of the entire universe but there were still a lot of great light-hearted and funny moments throughout the book to give you a smile and sense of hope. Once you get to the final chapter it takes a little bit to realize who's speaking to you but it sets up a great intrigue for the next book.

I have to say this was, for me, a depressing read. I have the impression from the end of the book that there may be a 4th book in the series, though how it can come back from such an ending I don't know. I've mixed feeling about this series now. I really enjoyed the first two books but this seemed more a of a slog to get through. I'll probably read book 4 if it comes out but I don't feel any real desire to read this installment in the series again.

Wow! Holy crap! This instalment is epic! I love a book where the characters are on the run and you feel just as out of breath and hyped as they are, as if you are right there running with them. This is the best book in the series, so far. Epic fights, twists, deceits and then out of the blue, a soft tender scene in the middle of it all that made me tear up. I love this series, I don't want it to end

I decided to put this one down and move on to something more interesting. While I loved the first two books in the series, this one only left me wanting. The story didn't progress at all and seems to be at a stand still. I plan on picking the book back up, but probably not until book 4 is released. I still think Forbes is a kickass author and highly recommend the first two books in this amazing and ORIGINAL series.

Divine 3The maelstrom of balance between the forces of good and evil chameleons flood the world as the gravity shifts from slide to side. Balance is once again in danger of becoming the end of hope unless sacrifices are made.

This may have been my favorite of the three. I enjoyed each one, but Broken seemed to bring out a little more from the characters. With that being said, I could have done without the cliffhanger
