the fruit of the spirit becoming the person god wants you to be Reviews
Such a "sustaining" book! I welcomed insights into each of the different gifts and a vision of how we are called to manifest them. I recommend it for anyone who wants to strengthen his own walk.
I bought this book as part of my study for a sermon series on the Fruit of the Spirit. This book is nothing more than an evangelical cliche. I was especially offended by the assualt on homosexuality in the chapter on the fruit of the spirit of 'goodness.' The authors trot out a variety of over-used stories and illustrations, that do little to help one delve very deeply into understanding the fruit of the spirit.
5 stars for the content, 3 stars for the editing, so the book as a whole gets 4 stars. I've read the passage in Galatians on the fruits of the spirit dozens of times, so it was nice reading a book that gives practical ways and examples on how to apply these fruits to your life and live the life that we as believers are empowered to live.
Great.. "wHEN PEACE LIKE A RIVER ATTENDETH MY WAY.wHen sorrow like sea-billows roll;what ever my lot, Thou has taught me to say,It is Well, it is well with my Soul.."(The Fruits Of Happiness- Thomas E. Trask, 2005: 72)
I loved it.
The Fruit of the Spirit; Joy, Peace, Patience, Gentleness, Self Control, Kindness, Longsuffering. I had to self examine to seek God's help for me to change my perception on life.
Decent. More of a devotional and less of a commentary on the Fruit of the Spirit.
"But remember, 'you have been given the fullness of Christ.' We are not just small containers of God's power and fruit- we are conduits"This book was a great reminder of who we are in Christ and how we have all the tools already inside us to be who He called us to be.
